This unique program offers affordable, high-quality training to anyone who works with victims of crime. The conference includes lectures and workshops related to assesing commumity needs, toos and techniques in victim treatment, domestic violence, and the use of technology in stalking. This training is designed for social workers, probation officers, bench staff, attorneys, CASA volunteers and others who work with non-citizen children who are in dependency or delinquency proceedings. It will cover Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) and other options for non-citizen childern who are in dependency or delinquency proceedings.
International Conference "Stop Child Trafficking"
| 2-4 November 2004, Osnabrueck/Germany Representatives from politics, authorities, institutions, media and project work will discuss the present status of the problem, and will collectively draft restrictive measures to further curtail commercial exploittation of children. Workshops, lectures and discussions that are also open to the public at large will highlight the background and methods used in child trafficking. Legal and political issues in the fight against this crime, which knows no geographical boundary; are also on the agenda of the conference. The conference should close with a common final document that includes precise recommendations for an effective fight against child trafficking. Ahead of this conference, a cultural program to be organized in co-operation with the city of Osnabruck will aim to publicize the theme of child trafficking to a wider audience using film, theater, literature and music.
